Pixton is the everybody can do it comic creator. No matter your content, Pixton is a creative way to showcase learning, tell a story, showcase knowledge of history etc... When I taught 10th grade English, students created their own graphic memoir modeled after our study of Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. Students had to tell a life story through pictures and text. I created a rubric and the kids had a great time presenting their graphic stories to the class. I am not an artist. I do not have any artistic ability and I loathed moments in school when I had to draw. I would have loved to use a program like Pixton where I can still show my creative side through the use of this online comic program. Pixton opens up creativity to all learners. I had a severe autistic student in my stage class a few years ago. The girl was not able to write, but she was an amazing artist and visual learner. When my students were writing their own plays I was uncertain how I was going to get her through it and then I thought of Pixton. She created a play in a comic book style and she even submitted to the play writing contest. She was very proud of her work and I was thrilled that she could create with the rest of the class.
